I think the youth definitely have a voice to be heard. In many cases though, its finding the audience of people who are actually willing to listen and take heed to their voices though.

Of course not. Having a voice requires having a thought.
Today's youth are told _what_ to think instead of _how_ to think. They should learn how to find facts for themselves, and I DON'T mean using a search engine.
Schools act as authority figures teaching them, "These are the facts" and not as spark plugs. Small wonder people today accept the idiocy of cretinism - oops, creationism - while colleges are full of foreigners who take skilled jobs because there aren't any home grown brains.

I think too often that youth is given its voice and its culture by corporations. Music, culture, clothes, movies, news, entertainment are handed to young people as a result of adult marketers who they see as consumers with disposable cash.
I hope that indy bands, indy movies, grassroots culture and authentic poetry and writing and communications start to emerge more. Myspace helps this because I don't think it's controlled by Vivendi, Time Warner, Sony BMG or Virgin, etc.
Young people need to be freed from their slavery.

Yeah, sometimes...
I express myself through my music genres and through the songs that I write. I express through my guitar playing because sometimes it's a nice sounding song and other times it's an aggressive sounding song. All depends on how I am feeling at the time that I write the song...
Haha, and I sometimes express myself through my clothes and the band t-shirts that I wear!!! lol!!!

Isn't that what Myspace is for? They get the illusion of it at least.
