I had an ablation in june 06 and it helped with the pain for a short time but now its back .My doc said the next step is an IUS and it will help with the pain ! I no longer get my period but i would rather have that than have the pain i get (my period) I just don't know what to think about the IUS. I can't imagine having something inside you for years !!!! I did see another doc who suggested a hyst so that is on my list but i am reading that it as well doesn't help . I just don;t know what to do

I would say that having the Mirena fitted is preferable to having a full hysterectomy, for a start off it's reversible! Try the Mirena first but expect up to a six month wait until you see the benefits. If it doesn't suit you then you can look at other more long lasting solutions to your problem but having a hysterectomy at this stage would be a bit of a drastic course of action.

Don't worry about having a Mirena, once you get over the initial yuk factor of having it fitted you soon forget that it's even there!

I would definitely give Mirena a try before having a hyst. I have Mirena(for birth control) and I'm enjoying not having heavy painful periods any more.

from what i've heard the mirena helps. i just got the mirena put in 2 weeks ago and i got it mainly for the endometriosis. i went to 2 doctors before i made the decision. and i knew a couple of people. so i hope it works. the insertion was painful for me. so that part i will warn you about. i havent had children so that may be why it hurt me more.

your loved ones historic previous could be making it worse, notwithstanding that's area outcomes supply it a pair weeks, it may flow away quickly, if no longer then flow to a doctor and spot despite if that's melancholy, or if the area outcomes are basically taking very long to flow away. good success!! :)
