Do you mean the canvas part? You can wash them but I've found the inside of the shoe likes to come off. If you mean the rubber part, try a grime remover like 409 but it probably won't come completely off.
If yours are suede (I have those, too), you're even worse off because once suede is nasty, it's really "gone." Again, if it's the canvas, try with a laudry spot remover pen and use a damp cloth to "scrub" and rinse before going that drastic step of actually tossing them in the machine. Good luck!...I just wear mine grungy or get more. Fine excuse : )

try a new sponge on the white rubber part. use the rough part of the sponge a few minutes, and all the dirt will come right off. they'll look as good as new. and if they're white, soak them in diluted clorox overnight and then put them in the washing machine. squeaky clean :)

Well, I know this sounds really strange, but I put mine through the dishwasher.... weird, I know, but it works really well! It usually doesn't dry them all the way, though, so either sit them in front of a heater or run them through the dryer. Good luck!!
