I have an easy solution for you to speed up your pc.
If your just wanting to make your computer run a little faster, try clicking on the start button, click run, then type "msconfig". Now click on the startup tab.
Here you will find all the programs that start when windows starts, some are unnecessary, like msn messenger. Make sure you can see the whole file name under Command, your looking for things that start with c:\program, these are programs you have installed, dont uncheck anything labeled c:\ windows.
Unchecking items that you dont often use will make windows run much faster, and this wont harm your system, because it doesnt delete anything......

I would go for a fresh install of Windows.
Maybe look into getting some imaging software and make an image of your windows drive while it is still running really well... and if your computer gets slow again... restore the image!

There could be alot of different reasons I'd try disabling programs
running on startup and disabling useless services to free up
system resources to see if that helps.
