They get on these runs where all goes well and they they lay an egg at home . if they can get points in every game and beat those ahead of them, they have a shot

I think it's going to be a toss-up between the Bruins, Leafs & Montreal - right to the bitter end. Just because a team has a little winning streak doesn't guarantee a spot in the play-offs - the Leafs are also going back & forth with win/lose streaks. It's all up in the air at this point.

Of course I'm rooting for the Leafs as always. May the best team win!

anything is possible but i don't think they have the goalie to carry this team far in to the playoffs. Chara is not that great in the playoffs in the first place and hes not having the best season this year. but there not far from the 8th spot but this is the time when teams need to step up. My Habs had been playing terrible hockey and we haven't been scoring but i know they can be a contender if curtain players step up like Kovalev and Samsonov but we are missing the power forward that can score for use and that's Montreal's biggest problem. and the Bruins biggest problem is there goaltending and you need that to get far in the playoffs.

WHY ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT OVERTIME POINTS YOU ALWAYS HAD A POINT IN OVERTIME WHEN YOU WIN OR LOSE SINCE THE OVERTIME STARTED IN THE NHL. ITS NOT A NEW RULE THE SHOOTOUT IS A NEW RULE YES BUT ITS LIKE JUST ANOTHER OVERTIME BUT JUST ONE ON ONE BUT THE POINTS SYSTEM IS STILL THE SAME YOU GET A POINT EVEN WHEN YOU LOSE IN OVERTIME JUST LIKE ALWAYS.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Nope. Too many teams are getting at least a point a game because of the overtime lost. Too much ground for the Bruins to make up right now.

They're making a push, but I think there are too many teams in front of them. At least 3 other teams are going to have to go into complete freefall for the B's to hopscotch their way into the dance.

Furthermore, as someone said earlier, OT points are making it really tough for teams to create separation, so making up ground and overtaking teams becomes that much harder.

They do have a talented team and I believe they can make the playoffs but don't see them getting past the first round. They need to have better goaltending and pick up a goal scorer.
