I hate to do it this way, but I guess the best way is by telling the truth. Most of the guys think they will get lucky with an outgoing girl. They think that shy girls are not going to let them get lucky.
Sorry, but that's the real truth. Remember that most high school boys only have ONE thing on their mind, and it's not school or relationships.

A shy girl represent emotional issues to a guy. Communication in relationships is hard enough in normal situations. Why would you want to approach a girl that already has social issues? Shyness equals allot of relationship work. Most guys are not equipped to deal with the "normal" girl.
Let's really cut to the chase here: dating a shy girl could mean a bad sexual experience. Sex is supposed to be free and uninhibited. If a shy girl can't deal with a normal conversation then what type of lover is she? Guys also know there is a higher probability they will badly break a shy girls heart if it doesn't workout.
Really shy girls are special cases that need to be handle with kit gloves. Shyness get in the way of discerning a girls real personality. she could be the most wonderful person underneath but she can also be the "chick from hell".
I have dated allot of shy girls in my time. Shy girls are socially less experienced and more sensitive but they are usually very intelligent and have unique talents. People have always felt very comfortable around me. I have never had a hard time getting a shy girl open up to me. Just like any other girl you have to genuinely care about her. Sincerity goes along way.

I think shy and/or quiet ppl are misunderstood a lot! I was very shy all my life and still am. High school was miserable for me being so shy. Half the time I felt invisible and the other half I felt extremely uncomfortable b/c someone was actually paying attention to me. Outgoing ppl don't understand why anyone would be shy and most of them won't take the time and effort needed to get to know a shy person.
My advice is that the only way to overcome shyness is to step outside your "comfort zone". For example start a conversation with someone you don't normally talk to. The first few times you do it, you will be really uncomfortable, but it gets better. Try to stay true to yourself no matter what other ppl might think of you, it really isn't easy, but it is so worth it.
If you betray who you are and who you really want to be, then what's the point of "fitting-in"? You won't even like yourself anymore.
Also, have hope. Life will definelty get better AFTER high school!!!

In high school I went after the shy girls. I feel more masculine around shy girls, I feel physically attracted to them. I think shy girls are sexy. Don't be ashamed of being shy, some guys really get turned on by shy girls. I think shy girls are more attractive. Shy girls appear more femine and delicate to me, the minute I meet a shy girl I just want to hug her. I get so attracted to them.
Even though you are shy you still can use subtle body language to flirt with guys without talking to them. Smile, bump into them, ask them a question, gently brush by them.

If your a girl in high school and are shy it doesnt matter how good looking you are if your not easy to approach and are not talkative then guys automatically think you are not interested simple as that. That is why many outgoing girls even if they are not very good looking will be able to talk to many other guys than ones that are better looking and less outgoing.

guys ignore shy girls because they think they are weird. my Girlfriend was really quiet but now that i've gotten to know her well she is quite the chatter box. we just don't think that shy girls are worth the time. but lots of guys are wrong about that. the shy ones always end up being the best girlfriends. you would probably make a good one for someone out there. you just haven't found each other yet.

alot of people ignore the shy girls cause it's easier to have relations with the outgoing ones. But don't worry shy girls have their own lives too and they get to do all the stuff the outgoing ones do just not as much which is good cause that means less stupid and immature mistakes.

I missed the first question- but if you're referring to guys then they always seem to like the outspoken/ extrovert type that will fall all over them and boost their egos. Don't worry though, because I think it's just a phase with most, and not all guys are like that.

What you need to do is work on yourself. Figure out your likes and dislikes, learn about things that interest you, worry about yourself, don't worry about them. They will come around once you start doing your own thing. You don't need them, especially in high school.
