Brothers and Sisters, on the backs of our forebearers was this great country borne; we came, screaming from the womb of our motherland, to this infant nation. We HAVE overcome. Overcome the oppression of slavery, the injustice of segregation, the disenfrachisement of taxation without representation. We are EQUALS . . .

To this great city, we are now free to gather and celebrate our victory . . .

Or something like that.

That you are French and asking this question is not surprising to me because France is quickly becoming yet another failed socialist state and doesn't yet realize it. The British failed to grant us representation in parliament before levying taxes on us to pay for the French and Indian war which never actually threatened our territory successfully anyway and as for reasons to be proud of the United States of America, our country donates more to international charity per capita than any other nation in the world, is the only country that guarantees the right to self defense, and property rights. with the notable exception of Israel and Turkey.

How did the French treat Algeria ? Haiti ? Viet Nam ? Then French Indo-China ? British innovation did not end the war in the Pacific. Im not surprised a European failed to consider this. How about in "Black Face"

That is not intended as a derogatory remark... back in the days when Blacks were denied the right to perform in public, the whites appeared in "Black Face" to immitate them. To me that was a very defining moment in American History
