You gotta try and see what happens. The only reason not to is that you enjoy fantasy so much that you don't want to ruin it with reality. It is far better to try to get something real started. Don't worry about whether it works out. My only warning would be is to not be too easy for your crush to get--the distance between you is part of the attraction. As you begin to get closer, make sure you two are on the same path forward.

Ive been in a situation like that...and i didnt take the chance, so now..if i ever got an opportunity like that, then yes i would go for it. And trust me, popularity is not an important factor at all in relationships. So yes i´d say go for it. You´ll never know unless you try. Good luck, i hope everything works out for you. =)

Even though this person may be popular you will find that this is also a real human being. If this person likes you and you like them fine. Unless this person has a reputation of always having different partners constantly.
