My son is almost 4 months. Hes got a running nose a little. He was up from 10-3am last night just crying. Nothing I could do would calm him down. He seemed okay this AM as he was smiling and having fun. I am not home with him now as I am at work. I was just wondering if it could be an ear ach, of if he just had a bad night? Any thoughts would help!

it could be an ear ache. pulling at ears, fussiness, runny nose, fever are some signs of ear ache or infection. i doubt he would be pulling at his ears at four months though. if it happens again tonight i would take him to his doctor to make sure. keep some infant tylenol handy just in case.

tugging or pulling at the ear (if it's not a normal thing for your child), Crying when they are laying down. My son has never had an ear infection, but these are some signs I've read about.

His ear might be red and warn to the touch, Also he might have a fever and be pulling or scratching at his ear. Ear Infections are very painful especially in a baby so young so if you are concerned I would suggest taking him to see his pediatrician. Also there is a product from Johnson & Johnson that has Vapors in it you can run a warm bath before bed time to help open his airways, if he is stuffy that can make him fussy.

If your baby had an earache, he would be pulling at his ears (not always) and he would cry everytime he would try to drink from the bottle. If in doubt, take your baby to the doctor.

usually they pull at their ears or put their finger in their ears too. It is a possibility he could be cutting teeth

usually if they have a earache they will tug and pull on their ear, he could also be teething, or a belly ache, or just not feeling well.

If his is pulling on his ear a lot he might have an infection.

often times when an infant has a earache they will take their little hands and rub on their ears and often they will cry a lot. Please take him to a dr.
