I hope your question is asked with irony, otherwise it's just plain stupid.

There are two separate considerations here: firstly, if we don't drop litter the street sweepers would be out of a job. WRONG! Most litter is created accidentally by the wind, leaves from trees etc. Secondly, if people had nothing to do so they all became insane, I would retrain as a psychiatrist!

I'm not sure you've sold me on actively dropping more litter,
although most UK train stations leave you with little alternative.
I'd much rather the govt employed millions of people to be writers of books & TV shows & painters & childminders & etc.
Your point is a stong one - lots of celebs seem to be driven to drugs, and all millionnaires end up suffering from mude swings & having no energy to do anything - it's odd how the less fortunate are in some ways actually the more fortunate.

'Having travelled quite a bit, I have noticed that England rather resembles a open rubbish tip! Especially in town, and along the highways and byways.
I brought my children up alongside the WOMBLES of Wimbledon, and we all still put our rubbish in our pockets and take it home, to empty out in to the dustbin. Who really wants to be a road sweeper these days? Not even a illegal immigrant!
WHAT is so hard about that? That also includes dog walking duties, carried out with respect for other people feelings. Its a great pity we cant all do that is nt it.
However, I also wonder if it was not a good idea to employ minor criminals. especially LITTER BUGS and people who fail act like responsible citizens, to clear & clean up this green and pleasant land, instead of them taking advantage of our four star HOLIDAY CAMPS we refer to as our now over crowded prisons!!!
Thus enabling the police to deal with more serious crimes in our society. God knows they need to.

No.
We have too many completely meaningless jobs that exist because of laziness; responsible citizens should take their litter home and put the street sweepers out of work. They can then be remployed as policemen and help to sort out the real problems in society....such as serial litterbugs

I agree that life has become so easy for us that we look for things to work our brains on. Elderly neighbours of mine were far too busy to worry about trivial stuff. They worked morning noon and night (except on Sundays) but there was never any idle hands for the devil to get hold of . . . celebrities undoubtedly go off the rails because life is too easy and there's nothing to wish for anymore.
