I have 1.1mb broadband, but want to know the max possible I can get as i would like the 16mb you get with sky. I know there are tests telling you the speed you have now, but I need one that can tell me whether I can get 16mb broadband.

Thanks

I too have 1,1mb Broadband with BT. It started off 2mb but my connection kept dropping out. They said I was a bit too far from the Exchange (2miles). So I think your speed depends on several factors .How far you are from your Exchange, the condition of the wiring where you live & so on. I certainly would`nt hold your breath on getting 16 mb with Sky
If you type in Broadband Speed Test on Google you`ll get several options to perform this Good Luck

Ok, If you have Cable, dsl, satalite they are not braodband. It is only technicaly high speed. because broadband can travel with little lag. Ok. Now you have to get T-I and higher in order to be in the broadband class. T-I's run at about 1.5Mbps. And you might think to yourself well i have a 6.0Mbps

Why don't you just go to some of the provider web sites and enter your phone number / post code. This should give you an indication of what should be available to you.
