No, there are plenty of Americans born after that who know about war and how it must be fought. Bush, in general, does not seem to know much about anything, not just war. Bush's problem was that he listened to his advisors who had no military background (Cheney, Rumsfield, etc), rather than those that did (Army Brass, Colin Powell).
