It seems to be a cool and convenient opinion for the young Euros to come on this board and bash America. I take huge offense to this....for personal reasons. Mainly, my grandfather came home from WW2 an alcoholic asshole because he couldn't get over all the killing he did to save Europe.

Have you Euros forgotten so easily? If not for the Unites States, you'd be speaking German under communist control. Why don't you look up how many Americans lost their lives defending your continent? Not to mention, it was your war....not ours.

You may find it easy and fun to bash America over the Middle East and Iraq. However, I ask you to understand that 9/11 wasn't long ago. When you get attacked by terrorists and lose over 3000 (many burned to death), well then, maybe you might understand.

God bless my country.....I'm proud to be an American!

Perhaps the basic answer is the adage "No good deed goes unpunished".

Ever listen in on kids hanging out and badmouthing the grownups that feed clothe & house them? Ever stop short when in one breath your kids whine they shouldn't have to do some chore because they're "only a kid" and in the next breath want your car keys?

Bashers generally have nothing to lose, and are often living off or at least subsidized by someone else's earnings. Chances are too that they weren't brought up to have decent manners and courtesy.

I'm damn proud to be an American too. And yes, I've been very disappointed with the actions and reactions of European countries. WW II has been long enough ago that the people who lived it are dying, and not all history books are written accurately. Having said all this... there will once again be a need for America in Europe, and I hope I'm alive to make my voice heard.

Robert it is good that you are a patriot and love your country.
But do not disrespect your friend and allies in Britain.
Shame on you for forgetting Winston Churchill and your British allies. British grandfathers fought and died for freedom as well,
while some in the US stood on the sidelines.

"I believe that we lost critical time in dealing with Iran because the White House chose to downplay the threats. I don't believe you face threats like Iran by standing on the sidelines. Let's be clear about the threat we face now: A nuclear Iran is a danger. The regime's pro-terrorist, and anti-American and its rhetoric only underscores the urgency of the threat it poses. Our policy must be clear and unequivocal. We cannot and should not – must not –permit Iran to build or acquire nuclear weapons. In order to prevent that from occurring, we must have more support vigorously and publicly expressed by China and Russia, and we must move as quickly as feasible for action in the United Nations. We cannot take any military option off the table, and must send a clear message to the current leadership of Iran – that they will not be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons."

Winston Churchill
