Maybe, but then maybe the DNC will implode like they did in the 1994,1996,1998,2000,2002 and 2004 elections.
maybe the DNC needs to make another president of AIPAC the chairmen of the DNC again, so they can get all those israeli campain contributions.

Since they did not implode, the question is moot. More to the point, a lot of people crossed over because of Bush in particular, not the GOP in general. The question you should be asking yourself is whether the Democrats can hold any gains when Bush is out of the picture. From what I can see, they are going to have their hands full with that.

We didn't implode. Also the democrat party has to hide what it is. So therefor the risk of imploding comes more from the left. The right will go further right and gain popularity. We lost because we became too liberal.

It will depend on whether the Democrats can actually show the voters that they are indeed as good or better than the scoundrels they replaced. So far I don't think that they have covered themselves with glory. They need to tread softly or they may awaken the sleeping giant of the conservative majority which would spell disaster for their plans to turn the USA into France.
