I have too, its okay. On my 12th birthday, I fell down the stairs and broke my collarbone. Then, my parents told me they were getting divorced. Yeah, not the best birthday ever,............

My 11th birthday was a nightmare. My mother never gave me another party after that.
Here's why.
It was held at a local roller skating rink. I had 10 friends and they had their parents there as well. My aunt lived right around the corner so cake was at her house.
One of my friend's mother fell skating and broke her arm. At my aunt's house, one of the kids (Seth) fell and gashed his head on the wrought iron fence.
They are were okay after medical treatment - but my mom never had another party for me. I didn't want one after that.
That was a nightmare and the worst birthday I ever had.

Well since they're making you feel "un-special" why don't you write a note telling them how you felt and do something you really love to do on your birthday... it will certainly take your mind off them

My 30th birthday- my husband replaced the toilet, then played video games and took a nap. For dinner, we went to a "dive" where he suggested we split a meal.
Don't take it too hard. If your friends are apologetic, then let it go. If they are not, get new friends.
Sorry your birthday sukd.

I never have viewed my birthday as being special so I have never had a bad one. This day is no different than any other day to me.

yes, 2 years ago (I share my birthday with my daughter, she is 17 now) 2 years ago we were extremely broke and had no car, I couldn't even get a gift for her, neither one of us had a cake, no one called us to wish us happy b-day and then our old, sick dog had a massive stroke and I had to get a neighbor to take me to the vet and had to have our beautiful cocker spaniel girl euthanized, had to put it on a bill at the vet too and he called to collect it 4 days later..was a pretty sh* tty birthday, never want to have another one like it

maybe their planning something different for you and saying things that you want but you can't have. they might be planning stuff for your birthday party but they had to make an excuse without saying or we're planning for your birthday.
also i've had the same experience but they weren't trying to be mean they were just planning something so i wouldn't find out.

When I turned 18 my boyfriend told me that we couldn't go out because he was fixing his truck. My friend and her boyfriend took me out instead and we ran in to my boyfriend with another girl. That was the worst, I haven't seen him since.
