Box making companies would have a tooling nightmare trying to develop the round box. Mostly due to the corrugation of the box. It's tones cheaper to put a round peg in a square hole. than to make the square hole round.

However, pass this idea by your thinking cap. Chinet style form fitted pizza boxes?

The boxes are easy to manufacture and can be folded into shape from a flat template - wouldn't be possible with a round box.

The alternative would be to make square pizzas.

Because round boxes cost too much and they're probably harder to pack. besides,.. square boxes are better for bashing your greedy mate/pal over the head with when he's just grabbed your last slice! lol

maybe its harder to make round boxes so they would be more expensive and it would be worth it for the puzza places to spend more money on boxes when the square ones work just fine but thats just a guess
