Babies need to grow teeth before being able to eat solid foods. Their teeth start growing when they are about 1 and they should have grown all their teeth by the time they are around about 2 or 2 1/2 . During this time you can feed them mushed food which helps them learn to eat. If you keep doing this they wil get used to it and they should be able to learn how to hold a spoon and feed themselves when they are about 5 or 6. Don't worry if you think this is a lte age because i know someone who still gets their mum to feed them and they're 11 years old-well only sometimes.... Hope this helps! :)
