I am thinking about purchasing refurbished notebook. I've purchased notebooks from bestbuy and both times I failed. I had to end up returning the notebooks and paying the restocking fee, which adds up to $200.00. My friend told me to just purchase cheap refurbished notebook for now and buy a new notebook maybe next year. What is your opion on this issue?

I would say to never get a refurb because it may be on the verge of "death". You probably need to look at good brands like Acer, Lenovo, and Toshiba for a laptop. Toshiba and Lenovo are expensive but are built well. Acer is inexpensive, but it is also made very well. You can get Acer from their customer service number on their site, ebay, or at wal-mart. You would do well looking into those companies.

Refurbished just means that there was something wrong with it when it was first shipped, it has been returned and repaired and now available to be bought again. It is basically just like new.
