I have Verizon and after my nephew abused his text messaging (racking up $100), I called them and told them to put a block on txt messaging on all the lines, and it worked. You can even ask them to block messaging and downloads on specific lines on your plan. I used to hate Verizon, but in the past few years their service has dramatically improved and the technology and reception are the best around.

every message, every call is registered. We may think when we delete a message that its gone. not true. It is possible with special permission (a PI will give you info) to acquire a print out of all messages both sent AND received to a specific number. Like a giant www, all messages are stored. This has been used in quite a number of cases.. call your service provider and find out who the technical manager is before asking the question or they'll just tell you it can't be done. It can.

Ok you can get them a boost mobile phone and when you set it up you can tell the company to not allow texting and internet usage. It also has walkie talkie for a dollar a day. It is prepaid so you can tell your kids that if the want to keep their phone running they need to be sparing with their talk time. Pay as you go is not a rip off. It is an easyt way to teach your kids responsibility.

Get a plan with unlimited texting, or just go pay as you go and make them pay for the extra stuff. Tracfone has texting and gets good service for a pre-paid phone.

Make them pay for their own cell phone bill or at least half...If they are of legal working age they can afford to pay $100/200 out of their own pocket then "good for them"...but if they can't get a job YOU need to let them know to cut some of that stuff out...but i see that you want to spoil them so stay with your phone company and continue to pay for their $200 phone bill
