When one is in the state of 'fully human' and 'fully alive' as described by John Powel in his book, then one is on his way to know his true identity. If one has a clear mind, heart and will of what he is doing, then he knows himself and his identity is quite clear. No doubt one can never reach 100 percent of ones knowledge of his identity but relying on the fact that one believes he is made in the 'image of God' is knowing his true identity.
