This weekend our church is going to the park for a church picnic. We wanted to play soccer, but i wanted to know some basic rules or ideas or tips for playing with out a real goal. We have some cones that we can mark a goal, but that's about it. Can there be a goalie, or is the goal made smaller and no one can play goalie? How high is to high for a goal? If anyone has any input or further suggestion from your experiences please let me know. Thanx!! =)

Keep a goalie. Narrow the goal a little bit. Make a rule like the ball can not be over waist high to be counted as a score.

:)
You apply the same rules as in a soccer field. The goalie is a "floating" goalie, meaning he can play and just like others but will be the only designated to touch with his hands the balls at the goal limits.
Imaginary lines will limit the side lines.
The goalr is as high as the average height of the players. Usually in a small play field like that, players push the ball on the surface...It's very rare the ball will be in the airs.
When it comes to playing football for fun, just enjoy and play. Don't worry much about all the rules. the goal cones and the ball should be plenty enough.

Well, it's not really a professional soccer game. It's basically all up to you guys. If i was doing something like that and didn't have a goal, i'd just put 2 cones maybe 3-5 yards from eachother, and have goalies if the teams want. It's all variety.
