Are there any parts of the visible celestial sphere to which you cannot point the telescope?

NOTE that there are often two ways in which the telescope can be directed towards the same region of the sky. One will often be much more convenient than the other. When looking towards the South, the general rule is that if you want to look at the star in the Eatern sky, you use the telescope on the West side of the tripod; if you want to look West, the telescope should be on the Esat side. These rules are reversed of you are observing in the North sky below the pole star. The mechanical moving taking the telescope from one side of the mount of the other is known as the "rollover."

It would be a strange telescope that could not be pointed to anywhere in the sky. Nevertheless, some telescope mounts will not point all the way down to the horizon. And I might suppose that a poorly designed mount would have problems pointing straight up.

If you can see it with your eyes, you can see it with the scope but I'm not sure what you mean by "east or west side of the telescope. The telescope sits ON the tripod and pier and not to one side of it and there's only on place you can point it to. If you want to view the moon, you have to point it at the moon and no where else.

You can point the telescope in any direction but will not be able to see any objects when it is pointed below your horizon.

I guess you're asking about German equatorial mounts, which can be tricky when you're looking at something near the zenith as the 'scope can foul on the pedestal or tripod. It's not impossible though.
