ive scanned my computor cos i keep getting - cannot find server or DNS error and also popups. anybody any clues or is it time to call the experts

It sounds like your ISP DNS lookup is not working correctly, or you have a problem with your dns cache.

The DNS hosts a list of web address's that match to a 12 digit ip address of a computer. To check if this is working correctly.
Click start=>Run> (Type) CMD a DOS window should open. Type ipconfig /flushdns to clear out any cached DNS address and try again. If the fails open up the dos windows again and type ipconfig /renew this will update your ip information and your DNS servers etc

Just unistall all the ipaddres and uninstall all the domain controler and reinstall the dc and give the ip correctly it will work

well rodders i think that it depends on the kind of coonection you are using.if you are using cables for your network then may be the cables keep going out.or if you are using a remote server may be it is the one with the problem
