If you are just looking at formula the best way is to bite the bullet, sit down and memorize them. Make yourself a set of flash cards.

Use universal indicator paper as this can be used to Measure pH of acid or alkali. If the pH is between 5 and 7, then it is a weak acid. If it is between 3-5, a moderately strong acid, or if It is between 1-3 it is a strong acid. This can also be accomplished with a pH meter (this measures the pH accurately, especially when it has been calibrated) which are readily available from laboratory stores. The pH meter is probably the easiest to use, as it will give to you a digital reading.

The best way is with a pH meter. The next best way is with pH test paper (different colors roughly indicate...) The crude way is to put a few drops on various materials and subjectively judge the violence of the reaction.

I confess. Your fantastic avatar (picture) inspired me to answer your question. I can tell, "just by looking," you're an Angel.

You have to test their pH. It'll be between 0 and 7, with 0 the strongest acid, and 7 the strongest base.

If I recall correctly.

Use universal indicator and a colour chart, stronger acids turn the UI very deep red.
