I have always had irregular periods and have not had one in over a year. Can I still get pregnant?

I am a 23 year old married female. My husband and I are considering starting a family. I started my period when I was 13 years old. I only had 5-6 periods and then they completely stopped. I began the pill when I was 16 and took it until I was 20. I had to stop taking it due to financial reasons. It is so expensive. After stopping the pill, I might have a period every few months or so. However, I have not had a period in over a year. Is it possible for me to conceive?

I am currently 31 and at the age of 25 was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure. Why, nobody knows, I always was regular until the age of 21 then it was hit and miss on my periods, then they just stopped at the age of 23, I went to the doctors, who referred me to a fertility doctor who diagnosed me, my suggestion is to go to a fertility doctor, they are not anymore expensive then a regular doctor, and they can give you the answers you need, now in my case it will take a miracle to concieve, but go before its to late. If nothing else maybe they can give you a hormone to start your period which will show that your ovaries are still working which will still give you hope on conceiving..........Best of luck, everyone deserves a family....

You might have pcos. Go see an ob/gyn and get a referral for a specialist. Best of luck.

is fact that SAM woman after take the pill for AF years they incapable to get pregnant.this happening to many woman.you should check with you Doctor, you may have develop problems.

talk to a ob/gyn, tell them your past history and your concerns and they will do tests and find out if you are fertile. that is the only way to find out if you can get pregnant, people on here can't tell you. good luck
