I would wait until Friday to call. Call him in the morning before lunch. Tell him that you are just calling to check on the status of your resume. If you call too late on Friday chances are he will be very busy trying to wrap things up for the weekend. If you call before Friday you may seem too eager. Remember that you have something to offer this company as well and you do not need to beg for a position. If you are what they are looking for they will let you know. Best of Luck!!

I know that you are anxious however i would suggest that you do not contact the company for at least two weeks giving them enough time to evaluate your resume. It's great that they informed you when they received it, so now give them the chance to process it.

Way too early. Wait until the next business week, (ie Monday) and then call.

If they hire someone by then, they probabaly had that person in mind to begin with.

Yes, you should call back to let them know you are serious and very interested in the job.
