dont use refill kits or compatible cartridges.

i have spent £100s over the years with them.

you buy a really expensive printer, then go and put cheap and crappy cartridges in, or refill them, and then they leak, or jam up the print heads, the printer is useless, you buy another printer, try out different compatibles and refills, it messes up your printer. you buy a new printer, use originals, and hey! it works great. I know they are expensive but the quality is much better.

I have a brother DCP-120C Inkjet on one of my computers, and a SAMSUNG ml-1610 laser.

i use the laser for all my text and basic printing. the toner is £50, but it does around 3500 pages per toner. i use the inkjet for photos, colour printing and my graphics coursework.

the bit i like about the brother inkjet is that the cartridges are all seperate, there is 4 seperate ink tanks, so, say like with epson, you run out of yellow, have 50% magenta and 80% cyan, it is all wasted.

whereas with mine, you just replace the colour as you need it.

much cheaper really!

(and its a scanner, copier and has an ADF as well)

It is way better to buy new ones. Do it yourself ink is way worse quality and can leak and damage your printer.
