You're probably thinking of each as a spectator sport.
I've played some of both too.
They both do not suit TV coverage because they take too long to develop and to finish.
I watch both athletic contests the same way--see the first part, skip awhile; then keep coming back. I can watch a good tennis match longer than a football game. The difference is: football is much better on TV than in a great big stadium as a spectator sport; tennis is better in person.

haha i like how you just asked this in the tennis section.... i.e. most people will say TENNIS of course!
yeah i like tennis better... to watch and to play. watching football gets boring after the second half. once the first half is over, you pretty much know how the game is going to go so theres no use in wasting another hour of my life. tennis on the other hand is very exciting. flag football is fun to play but tennis is much more of a challenge for me mentally because its only me and the my opponent i have to worry about, not a whole team like football. besides, i like the challenge. =)

I like both. Tennis is a more of a solo play, unless you play doubles. Also, tennis is a less tiring sport than football, and that people don't expect too much excitement. Football is more of an American sport that includes all those tackles and sacs. Also, people see more excitement of others getting tackled

Tennis- You get way less hurt and way less tired and not to mention there are more indoor tennis facilities than there are football facilities. This eliminates winter football. so, its football all the way

Got to be football, tennis is just back and forth, back and forth - worse than rugby but not as bad as cricket.
And women's tennis is laughable. LOL
