Did you mean in past days was the life best in our country? The matter is not general to all people of particular period but it depends on individual achievement and is quite possible without any doubt.

In those days cooking with natural fire and doing the ordinary things, etc. is the best life in our country. The modern facilities apparently make life easier but in actual life it makes people grow lazy and life becomes boring.

If all people thought and realized that their reasons for war (and even most or all small-scale problems) are useless and stupid, peace would be possible. It's too bad that will probably never happen, but there's always hope. Our species only started any leaps in thought 200 years ago.
