Which countries should not become members of the EC (EU) ?

I like to be an european, good educated, good job, having celtic roots and and and .... What is your opinion?

I used to think it that it should just be Britain and the other western European countries. But I've been starting to think it should just have been the mainland western European countries and Britain should never have joined in the first place.

I always thought eastern expansion was a bad idea because of the economic cost of admitting a large number of countries with poorer economies. Unfortunately, of the countries in the EU, Britain have been the ones pushing most strongly for eastern expansion, mainly to try and shift power in the EU away from the French and Germans, not caring about the practical effects on western Europe.

The same thing is happening with Turkey. Britain, under pressure from the US, are pushing for Turkey's inclusion in the EU against the wishes of most of the European population and for that matter most of Turkey's population as well. It will end in a disaster that I don't think would have happened if Britain had stayed out.

Any European country apart from England should be in the EU and the EC. I am English - not European. We need to focus on making our country great. Yes, a a relationship with other countries is beneficial, but I feel that being part of Europe is detrimental to our countries well being.

In the end, all of the world should join the EU. The last to join should be the US & China - and these should be the countries who have to make the most changes before they are eligible to join. In the end, I believe that we would all be better off with a friendly, cooperative, democratically affiliated world and a govt that IS able to bring about world peace, human empowerment, fair competition regulations and an end to over-pollution and international crime.

There should be a basic standard for joining the EU which few if any of its newer members come anywhere close too.The main reason why the UK is flooded with East Europeans.

Turkey should be allowed to join. Any other European country, Cyprus, Malta etc should be allowed. None outside the EU sphere of influence.

Ah, in the UE are all west nation and some nation of ex yugoslavia, and Romania and Bulgaria(but not use the euro)

The U.K., i think we should pull out of the E.U. Follwoing English football i have gone to many poor countries and i feel sorry for them but to let them join the EU is ridiculous. Look at Romania and the likes. Its a basically a open club.

Turkey should not be allowed in because of their human rights abuse against ethnic minorities in their country.
We should have a strong Europe to combat the threat from America's globalisation.
But I do accept not everything about Europe is great but its up to counties to fix these problems and not stand back and complain and use the rhetoric of racial abuse against other nations.(the little England mentality)

Turkey should be allowed in-they have tried
The Slavic countries,keep them out,they do not think like Europeans.
