I was having some issues with an irregular cycle so I went to a walk in clinc and the doctor told me he needed to do a pelvic exam, while doing the exam he called me hun and told me to take it easy. He was in there for like 3 mins poking around, made me feel very uncomfortable. Or am I just worrying to much?

I have had a worse experience with a female nurse practitioner at a health department. She was down there for about 10 minutes and she even took her gloves off. She also gave me a breast exam that took about 10 minutes and tried to tell me because my breasts weren't the same size that she wouldn't give me my prescription until I came back to see her again for another exam in a week. I was 22 at the time and went home to my husband and cried for hours. I felt like I was molested and taken advantage of. I was too scared to go back to a doctor for 3 years because of it. I will only go to a real GYN for an exam now with someone in the room.

Yes, Terri, I did report her and she did get fired. Thankfully she won't be able to do it to anyone again.

Skies, what a horrible experience! I do hope you ended up complaining about that 'doctor'. Lots of women have breasts that are different sizes.

As for the question, I think that was normal. He should have had an assistant in there with him though. Next time you go for an exam and its a male doctor, insist on someone else there with you.

some physicians are slow and could take longer than others. an entire Gyn examination ,in my opinion, below regular situations shouldn't final over 2 min. and by no skill without the nurse cutting-edge interior the room.

you ARE worrying way too much. Nevermind that quirky nurse bit thing. It read like a normal P.E. to me. The good doctor was simply being thorough. You're too uptight & intense. RELAX. It's part of being female.

Was there a nurse present? There should ALWAYS be someone in the exam room with him.

He is a "man" first, and then a doctor! It does sound to me that he might have been enjoying himself a little TOO much.
