Depends on the level of nitrates in the water. He could be full size in a year or so, but will grow much slower at higher nitrate levels. Also, temperature does play a role, but Discus are more likely just to die instead of not grow if the temprature is too far off.

Good luck with Discus though. They are very challenging.

There is no defined growth rate, it depends on the quality and size of the environment, the quality and amount of the diet, the temperature of the water, and the variant of discus it is. Of course the fish won't reach full size in a year, since they do keep growing all of their lives, but you should see the majority of growth (pretty close to adult size) within the first two years.

Keep them in pristine water in the proper warmth, in a suitably sized tank, and feed them a varied, high quality diet, and they will grow well. Remember, it's not a race - let them grow at a natural pace.

That really depends a lot on how well he is fed, how large his tank is, how clean the tank is and at what temperature the tank is kept. Loads of variables but just keep the tank clean and him well fed and let nature do the rest. No need to push the growth rate, that's not good on the fish.
