America is really in a mess where Iraq is concerned. If you leave then there will be a scramble for power that will be very bloody, in fact it might lead to anarchy.

Iran and Syria will be big players in that scramble,

Israel and Turkey will too.

Then of course there is all that oil.

Taking these factors into account my gut instinct tells me that the US just cannot afford to pull out now. It will lead to complete chaos.

The only way is for the five permanent members to try and come to some agreement as to what would be best and then with UN and EU approval and backing try to bring Iraq into the international mainstream.

Easy to say, very difficult ask though, but not impossible.

Loll I agree with u. The biggest problem with Bush is that he whole heartedly believes in his stupidity and NOTHING will mak ehim change his mind. Denmark is also pulling out.

The problem is also this, he is stupid that he started the whole mess, but if you think about it, you guys can't just pull out now. Think of all the hatred and bad talk and more consecuances based on teh fact that "they came, the blew up everything, messed up everything, took our ol and left"

That would be the ruin of the US as a world super power

Bollocks. Britain is acting incredibly irresponsibly for the mess they helped America make in Iraq. And now, for the good of their OWN nation, they pull out? Leaving Iraq in utter chaos, with several terrorist factions fighting for control, while the US military can do nothing but skirmish a few terrorists at a time, ignoring the big picture?! WTF is wrong with the Coalition?!
Sounds like what Britain did with India a few centuries ago.

Well, they are not pulling out. They are reducing their presence.

Bush will never listen to anyone.

I support our troops, and think we should get a plan to remove them to a safer place... Like back home. Our troops in Iraq have made us safer here, for this I am very thankful.

He's congratulating Blair and as soon as Blair turns his back, Bush is giving him the finger.
