People in general, the media, and most of all politicians have completely lost touch with reality.

Personally I don't give a rat crap about Britteny Spears, Brad Pitt and Angelia or any other celebrity.

I don't know what the hell is going on in Iraq and do not understand the war.

As a cop and a proud former soldier I support real people doing the best they can to make do with what they have in circumstances beyond their control.

The Media jumps on what sells and that changes on a daily basis.

Quite often, when I see a media report on something that I know about intimately - they seem to be in left field. I saw an article in the NY Times abt a street in Bangkok, near my home. I never would have recognized it from the article.

Have you ever been to a protest or demonstration - everyone is standing around and talking and then when the lights go on for the cameras, they go nuts waving placards and screaming and punching the air w/their fists - the camera goes off, they stop...

Many reporters are egotistical know it alls, who know little but are seeking to find or make the sensational.. So, you can add that in to the equation..

The media have a low opinion of the public, and the people live down to that by consuming junk.

People don't realize that Britney Spears will ultimately have no effect whatsoever on their lives, and that they've wasted their lives following her every move.

Being in the media circuit myself, headlines read like tnat because journalists are normally paid per word that they write, and editors like headlines that catch people's attentions long enough to buy their magazine just for the article alone.

Celebrity topics are a good source of income for a lot of freelance journalists, because they are always active with prohjects and they always have a large gathering of fans eager to know the lastest news.

They're spoon feeding us intellectual junk food because that is what we want. We're tired of war, crime and misery.
