How can i rip from a copy protected dvd? I have a son who figures his way to my collection and i need to back them up. Every program/software i try states it cannot be ripped due to being copy protected. How do i get around it? Nero did not, nor did anything like it, prove useful.

Go get a program called DVD Decrypter. It should be able to rip just about any DVD to your hard drive then you can use Nero to burn your backup copy. If it won't fit onto one DVD, you can use a program called DVD Shrink to compress it so it will fit. DVD Decrypter sometimes runs into problems with newer DVD copy protection, but there is are ways to make it work.

You have to get something called a dicripter - I think you can get it off of the internet but it is realy complicated. Then you install it onto your computer and it will rip all dvd's. Keep in mind it is illegal and punishable by a 250,000 fine IF you get caught
