I believe it's a tax credit, you also get it if you don't file.

this might help for what you're asking

Children bring joy to the family. The Baby Bonus Scheme, first introduced in April 2001 and enhanced in August 2004, supports parents’ decision to have more children by helping to lighten the financial costs of raising children. The Scheme now benefits the 1st and 4th child born on or after 1 August 2004. You will get a cash gift of $3,000 each for your 1st and 2nd child and $6,000 each for your 3rd and 4th child.

When you are on beifits you get a certain amount of money from the goverment after your baby is born (I dont know if you get it if you arnt on benifits)

It depends on your circumstanec's. I think you get a certain amount if a young child comes in to care or if you adopt, but Im not sure how much it is.

When you have your baby you get something like $4100. If you have more than 1 child (twins, triplets, ext) you get it for each child (twins would be $8200)
