Rape has nothing to do with sex but a chance for a person to assume power over another.

Hi. As a man who has never raped anyone, (and don't plan to) I can only answer with TV show educated and personal theories. I think there are severe possible reasons for PEOPLE, not just men to commit rape. Close your mouth, there ARE cases of men being raped. LOL. Its not as frequent or should I say not as frequesntly reported, but I actually know 2 guys who were raped by women. But back to the point. I think one reason is for control/power. Usually rapists are people who feel like they have little or no control/power in their lives so they manifest it by taking an intimate control item. So in effect your question about whether its about anger, lust or love of violence has merits in all categories. They are usually angered that their life is not what they believe ot should be so they lust the power they feel they lack. They therefore take their aggression out on someone weaker. Depending on the victim it can be violent or just a domination if the victim is too weak or afraid to fight back. Thats my little spiel. I thinj there are other reasons as well, but perhaps someone who is more expert in the area will chime in. Hopw my pespective helps you though.

Since women -very- rarely rape men (yes, it is possible), I'm forced to conclude that it's a male-based thing. It seems to occur when men feel that they've lost control of a given situation. Generally, men are stronger than women, as classes, and when all else fails in a man's effort to gain their way, some men (I think that psychology indicates that there are certain characteristics defining potential rapists) resort to violence to inflict dominance on others (men or women).
Rape was less common in ancient times, simply because women were forced by society to be subservient. In many families, there was a paterfamilias, a male family member that had the power of life and death over his family. As this power eroded, it became more and more acceptable for women to say "No" to a male family member's orders, and some men weren't able to deal with this.
Generally, men rape either in the heat of passion, when they are frustrated at disagreement, or they prowl for a victim. This latter set of men generally feels inadequate or inferior in general, and lashes out this way.
Some people must dominate others in any way that they can. Rape is a final option, which the majority of men wouldn't think of employing, but which some men do.

Rape is a natural form of breeding throughout the animal world. A few species on Earth do have a courting time and some that mate stay together afterwards.
Humans were the same in our beginning. The first people did not ask permission, they took.
The word rape is a term we use now days since we are supposedly civilised and rape is disruptive to our family structure and social peace.
We now live in a world of attempted order and our natural instincts of raping and killing are not allowed.
When a lion kills , it is it's nature when man kills it is his nature. There are just repercussions for our nature going against our social rules.

Many studies have been done on Rape. Most have concluded that rape is a crime that is caused more by feelings of inadequacy and hate than lust or sexual drive. So the typical answer of cut a rapists penis off, would not solve the whole hate thing...that person would just rape their victims with something else. Most rapists have to dominate their victims to be able to perform sexually, the scared and submissiveness is what arouses them.

It's simply a power thing with a man who feels that he has no power in his life raping a woman (or another man or even a child) to feel powerful himself. It has nothing at all to do with love or lust. A man can be very angery at women or a particular woman and then go out and rape another woman just to feel that he has some power in his life and to express his anger.

One answer is that it is about the expression of power, and sex is only the means. Another is that in other primate species, the male does not ask the permission of the female, and we only diverged from the chimpanzees 5 million years ago.

Rape is not about sex, it's about control. Men who rape feel powerful by inflicting the ultimate humiliation on their victims. They are epitome of the fat kid who pushes little kids around on the playground.

It's all about the power they feel!!! They like that feeling of overpowering a person who is weaker than them. It makes them feel "strong"!!!! That, and the fear from their victims!!!
It's not even about sex, because if that's all it was, there are plenty of girls who have loose (or no) morals today!!! Just look at all those college girls who like to flash their breasts, etc!!! Not to mention all the street walkers!!!!
