Isn't that the purpose of trading though? Craig Patrick used to be a genius of the trade deadline like that, and he would "buy" the Cup if he could. Seriously you are supposed to get the best deals you can at the trade deadline. If they win I don't think people will be saying that.

I don't see that at all. The Preds are largely a homegrown team with 9 of their 23 roster spots filled with their own draft picks and another 10 players having spent at least two years with the club.

In fact, Arnott, Dumont, Vishnevski and Forsberg are the only new faces with the former two having signed last summer.

This team is a legitimate example of building from within, unlike some mercenary squads we've seen in years past. Whether or not they can bring home the title is an enirely different story.

Yes and no. They will say that Forsberg was a factor in winning the cup but it really does take all 23 players on the roster and the coaching staff to win the cup. It's a tough 3 months for just one person to do it by themselves.

NO, they do what most contending team do come trade deadline, but the question should be will the people of Nashville even know they won the Stanley cup, cause we all know that Nashville is not a good hockey market and it shows in its attendance even with a really good team this year the fans are still not showing up. the Preds have an arena with a capacity of just over 18,000 and average below the 15,000 mark every home game so that's nearly 3,000 to 4,000 empty seats every home game not good.

Forsberg not the force he was in Colorado a few years ago. I don't think he'll make any of the lines he's on a whole lot better, but he will make an impact though. Not Stanley Cup Impact though.

Nashville was good b4 the trade, it just made them better. DaAvs is just mad because Forsberg doesn't play for Colorado anymore. The Wings will still win the division if Hasek can stay healthy as well as the cup. But that's just my opinion.

GO WINGS!!!

Not I. The Predators were already good with guys like Dumont, Kariya and Timonen; couple that with the goaltending tandem of Vokoun and Mason and you've already got yourself a solid team. Adding Forsberg is just another piece of the puzzle...but the only guys with real playoff experience are him and Kariya. That'll be their Achilles heel and I don't see them making it out of the second round...sorry Preds fans.

No. It's a lot different to how the Wings bought their Stanley Cups. Teams are on a salary cap now, so it was good trading that brought Forsberg to Nashville.

No because forsberg hasn't been producing like he should anyways, hes not living up to potential at all.

I don't think so. Forsberg has played a few games already and has n't shown much.
