Hmmm. BEST is kinda vague and often relative, but certainly there are HUNDREDS out there, some very specific.
I most enjoy PBS TV, and in particular This Old House, and/or Ask This Old House.
What might be better to serve you is creating a library of those "specifics" you most want to involve in, or in your efforts, can actually involve in as a true DIY.
Certainly there are tradesman, like myself, who don't write books, who you might have to engage for some specifics, especially those involving CODES or Safety, or Liability issues in your "projects." I offer this example,,, even if abstract.
As a younger person I thought I could adjust the features of a TV that wasn't functioning to my satisfaction. I had no knowledge before hand, of what I was doing. I knew enough to remove the back of the TV, accessing what at that time were tubes, etc.
I'm creating an image here so please indulge me.
I marveled at the technology, even then and began poking at it with the screwdriver I held, while squatting behind the set, in a space from the wall allowing access. Suddenly I FELT something, but before I knew what IT was, I found myself "Slammed" against the wall holding a smoking screwdriver. I had ignorantly touched a capacitor and was grounding the current I neglected to UNPLUG.
The TV survived BTW, as did I, but never again did I attempt DIY on that TV.
Knowledge is a wonderful thing, and something we should all strive for. WISDOM is application of knowledge, which sadly, often, we gain AFTER we NEED it.
