BEST ACTOR put in the WORST role - making them look like a terrible actor. (e.g. - samuel jackson - some of al pacino's stuff)

thug...no. i mean when a good actor is put in a terribly-trite role like samuel jackson in that retarded piece of crap, 'snakes in a plane'...or the majority of the other horrible movies that BRILLIANT actor has made. get it?

If they're great actors, they rarely look like bad actors in the roles. Instead, the movies look terrible--like a waste of great talent. Or occasionally, someone is just not right for the role, but if they're a great actor they still don't look like a bad actor, they just look wrong for the part.
Samuel Jackson never looks like a bad actor in my opinion, though he has been in some terrible movies. Al Pacino has always had a tendency to chew the scenery a little, so sometimes poor casting lets that bad habit show (same for Gary Oldman.)
There have been some spectacular instances of casting great actors in terrible movies (don't shoot me here, but Judi Dench in "Chronicles of Riddick"?!!!) My top vote, though, goes to the entire cast of "Caligula." Never have so many good actors been led astray.....

Jeremy Irons in "Kingdom of Heaven." Ed Harris in "Enemy at the Gates." As much as I hate to say it Michael Madsen in "SIn CIty" - don't get me wrong. That movie was great, just he was far below what he usually does in a movie.
