We're going to New York in March - it's our first time and we're so excited! We want to see The Phantom of the Opera...what are some good seats? They have Orchestra seats in the very back, left and right Orchestra seats a couple rows back, and they're sold out for the first balcony. We can't afford $200 tickets!

Contrary to popular opinion, I think the best seats for ANY musical are the first row, center, in the mezzanine or balcony area. From there, you can see the whole stage picture, are sitting up high enough that you can see what's going on in the back of the stage, and your view is not blocked by heads in front of you. You can bring binoculars so to get a close-up look if you want that. I HATE sitting in the first 10 or so rows - way too close!

For the situation you described, I'd choose Orchestra section in the very back. Enjoy!

When I see a big musical like "Phantom", I like to sit in the mezzanine (the closer the better). From this vantage point, you can see all the way to the back of the stage. During large dance numbers, this allows you to see everyone, and see the 'stage pictures' the director and choreographer are trying to make.

The first time I saw it was in the very back of the orchestra. The second and third, it was from up top. Bring some binoculars, and get some cheaper seats!

I would say as long as you see the stage for most plays, but this is phantom of te opera! I saw it and sat in row 3. It was amazing. That is what i reccommend, but if you can't get that seat, then just try to be able to see the stage

I saw it in London and we were front row of the first Orchestra. I think we had the best seats in the theatre!!!

Any musical with a huge cast, dance numbers - and lavish costumes is something you want to see with some astetic distance involved. I'd rather sit in the balcony - than in the orchestra. Is there a mezzanine? A second balcony? For this show - the higher up you are - the better.

of those choices - Right orchestra.

There is some activity that takes places ABOVE the stage and to the left so you'll get a better view of this from the right.

It is an AWESOME show. I've seen it twice. Love it.

Yep. Are you familiar with the musical? Something happens near the first few rows.

Honestly, it doesn't matter to me where I sit when I see it. Besides, if you sit in the back, you don't have to crane your neck so high to see the chandelier!
