To remove and replace a half stair using construction grade lumber (not oak or such) the job should take three days maximum. Including lumber and dump fees about $1000 to $1200 should cover it using experienced carpenters working for himself. If you hire a company it would cost another $400 or so.

there is no such thing as the going price for your problem.just not enough info. you can probably fix it your self if the risers are in good shape that is the biggest item as to how much it will cost.I don't know where your at but around here a repair man for such a job would run from $25.00 per. hr. up
