Punctuality and loyalty is the important key to a good employee. We all have our bad days and move slower than the norm. But, the loyal is always there giving it their best shot. So have patience and love your computer. :)
I know what you mean though when you are seriously at work trying to beat a deadline and your computer will not work at normal speed, slowing you down. It can be frustrating, stressful and over whelming. Hang in there, take a deep breath and do the best you can with what you have to work with.

Is it generally a hard worker? Maybe, it's having a rough day. I would explain the problem to it and see if it responds... If it still refuses to speed up... Hire a troop of illegal alien computers, they are cheap and hard working!

If its contract says it has to be paid work or play then you haven't a leg to stand on and it might get stroppy and bring the union in to have you for slavery.
