Thanks for sharing! But no one really cares about Cricket. Its a recreational sport for people. That doesn't mean everyone likes it. The reason soccer is the top sport and so is Cricket is because it is an inexpensive sport so the whole WORLD can play it. The whole world can't afford baseball bats and gloves and tennis rackets. So that is why. I did research on it on some project a few years ago. EDIT: I agree with the answer above me, there are a LOT more people in America than 500 million and baseball is the American Pass Time, and people Internationally watch and play it in Mexico, Cuba, Japan, China, Venezuela, and many other places. So yeah. Just so you know, wikipedia can be VERY fake and inaccurate. i agree that Soccer is #1 though. But anyways, Yahoo Answers is for people asking questions, not people announcing things.

C'mon man!!when there are so many popular sports like soccer etc. cricket can never be the world's 2nd most popular sport.

yes after football because india has about 1 biilion people( 1 seventh) of the world population and they follow cricket.

i don't know about the world but in SA it's the third most popular after soccer and rugby.
