i have someone on my friends list that has threatened me and the kids and i need to know how to report that person?

Turn it over to your local law enforcement or ask them who to turn it over too. If it's email print and save it. With laws the way they are now a threat is a threat and most law enforcement agencies will take them seriously.

On your friends list? You mean like MySpace? Do they know where you live? Do they have a way to contact you other than via the internet? If not, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If they do, you need to contact the police and retain any information they are sending you.

How about starting with the police? If I was seriously threatened, I'd be dialing the local police precinct immediately, not asking a question here!

Call the police. They can get the IP address to trace where its coming from. You would have to turn your PC over and they would have to totally go Thur the hard drive.
