A cover letter shows you have a level of business acumen beyond the majority of applicants.
But it must be properly and correctly addressed!
If you already have the interview, I wouldn't fret about the cover, what you need to start working on is your follow up thank you note(s), as that is what will set you apart from the competition now.
Get business cards from anyone you meet with today. Make sure you are super polite to everyone (including receptionist, assistants and even janitorial or parking staff). The last question you should ask is when they are planning on making the decision and if they say in the next couple days you need to email (or fax) your thank you.
The "thank you" for interview note should re-iterate all the reasons why you are excited to be considered for the position and all the reasons why the company should hire you.
If you want anymore guidance on proper form, drop me a line...

Monster has a good site for putting together a resume and cover letter. You may also want to check the Microsoft downloads, I believe they have sample resumes and cover letters.

No, you're past the point of needing a cover letter since you already have an interview. Cover letters are very important when they accompany your resume at the pre-interview stage, to introduce yourself and help you stand out in the crowd, but at the interview stage, the interviewer will want to cut to the chase and talk facts.

Really you should include a brief cover letter stating;
where you saw the post advertized
how you are suitable for the job (matching resume, self and job)
when you are available for an interview
.. but since you have scheduled an interview already there's less of a need.

I would say no as well....they already know enough about you to call you in for an interview, which means they have read your interview, and the job of the cover letter is to get them to read the resume, so that is already done....
good luck

No, in your case where you indicated that you spoke to the employer already and has the interview to follow, you can exclude the cover letter, but please make sure that all personal as well as contact information is included in your resume.
Best of luck.
