Yes his name was John squire. Him and ian brown were the founder of the roses. They released two albums, The debut 'stone roses' and then the much critised second coming. They split on bad terms, ian brown went on to have a solo career, while john went on to form the seahorses who released an album called "Do it yourself" in 1997. It never really took off, although they did have a hit single called "love is the law" which im sure you will remember if you heard it!! After the seahorses john decided to have a crack at things on his own,and released "Time changes everything" It still has the trademark squire spiralling riffs but johns voice has never been his strong point and it flopped. Since then john squire has concentrated on his artwork as he also a accomplished artist. There is still rumours of a reunion of the roses, although this is always denied by both Brown and Squire. We can always hope tho eh!!!! Just before i go, irecomend that you try and buy do it yourself by the seahorses as it is a bit of a pop masterpiece in my opinion!! Sorry if iv droned on but i am a HUGE roses fan!!! Hope this helps
