A popup stopper often hides a real problem, so don't use them all of the time. I recommend that you browse unknown websites with FireFox, since it has a built-in popup blocker that is easy to control. Visit http://www.mozilla.com for the free version.
I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.
This double whammy will help keep you safe and running faster.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

A popup is another window you open, and that's what popup blockers block. Whether they get blocked is up to the user, not the site. There are other ways to do a signup that only appears when you eant it without using a popup - CSS is one (change the display property of the signup box).

1. In Internet explorer go to tools -- Internet options-- privecy then check the box called block popup.
2. download yahoo tool bar which has a in build popup blocker
3. download google tool bar which also has a pop up blocker
You can also allow pop up from a site by clicking the button allow pop up on these tool bars, as some sites need pop up to show videos, animation etc.

there are hundreds of programs that do that.
Internet Explorer 7 even comes with pop-up blocking.
Go to http://www.download.com/ and type in "pop-up" and find a program that does it.
It pop ups appear all the time, then you could have adware... at the same site, search for "spybot" and download SpyBot search and destroy.
If you have Internet Explorer 7, just click the "Tools" tab, and on the drop down list, point at "pop-up blocker" and turn it on.
Have Fun!
