Definately need Itunes. Ipod won't work with anything else. You can't even burn CD's from Itunes. As soon as you connect your Ipod it will automatically download songs from Itunes. So make sure everything is together b4 you connect

THIS IS FOR ITUNES 7.0!!! u can place the cd into the disk drive, wait for it to show up then click audio cd it will start importing songs, into your computer check the ones u want if u dont want them uncheck it! then u can click a button at the bottom to stop it from importing that song! (at least i think it at the bottom not 100 positive.) then it will say cd done importing cd then u can click eject disk. and u can fill out information on songs! good luck! hope this helps! u can download itunes 7.0 with quick time it takes longer but i would recommend it!

i use itunes. once you install itunes you can rip the CD and the songs will appear on itunes. then just connect your ipod (select manually manage music otherwise itunes will start automatically moving songs in and out of your ipod) and move the songs into the ipod.
