There are many options that don't involve any hormones (which seem to be your issue).
1. Sponge (has spermacide in it and it's a barrier method)
2. Plain ol' spermacide (essentially kills the sperm so they can't get farther than your cervix)
3. Diaphragm (you have to go to your GYN to get fitted for the right size. It's also a barrier so the sperm can't get through)
4. Condoms (yes, they suck, but if you don't want to use hormones, it's an option)
BTW, some IUD's (the coil thing they insert into your uterus) contain hormones are released just like the pill.

There is a coil that is inserted into your cervix and stays there for about five years, the mini pill, the patch, or a sort of implant that can be inserted in the underside of your upper arm. They are all pretty much as effective as the pill and with the coil and implant you dont need to worry about it till the doctor next puts one in. Im trying the mini pill at the moment cause i suffer migraines on the combined pill - thought to be imbalancement of hormones. But if it doesnt suit me i will consider some of the other methods. Your right though there are loads and these are just a few, ask you doctor to advise you on what method is best for you.
Oh and may i just give you my personal view on the injectable contraceptive? DONT DO IT! I put on nearly two stone when i tried this method and i have heard of other ppl suffering the same side effect. Like i say this is my personal experience, ask your doctor for advice!

Hi,
You could try the implant - which lasts about 3 years at a time, or the IUS (like a coil, but with hormone impregnated plastic) both of these are highly effective, but if it is the hormone in the pill you react to, you MAY prefer to use the standard IUD (coil) which has NO hormones, and works by stopping the egg implanting in the lining of the womb, it has the added advantage that your fertility is not affected and returns to normal as soon as you have it removed.
The nhs do a leaflet which explains all the possible choices and it has all the side effects and everything - I would ask your practise nurse for a copy, or even better, go in and have a chat - they're usually pretty clued up and helpful.

Hi! I have used the temperature method for a good couple of years - successful! :-) I have used a little computer device called PERSONA (purchased in Germany, surely you will find s.th. similar where you live). This device requires urine-sticks that u use on 7 days in the month to check for your ovulation time to calibrate the machine. It needs 2 months to calibrate and then will show you your RED and - YIPPPPIEEEE...GREEN days. I can really recommend this method if you are in a solid and healthy relationship but it requires dicipline and should only be used if a child would not be the end of your world.

go to www.plannedparenthood.org they have lists of every type of contraception. SInce you cannot use hormonal methods, and condoms suck (i feel your pain on that one, ugh), I'd recommend an IUD. They can be very effective and last for years! Check out the site though, lots of valuable information!

If I had to do it all over again I would do the persona, calendar, method and natural progesterone cream. This method seems more reliable then the pills or the coils. For an extended article see source.

Talk with your gynecologist about this, because of your reaction to the pill, he might suggest something like a diaphragm or IUD versus the various hormonal contraceptives.
